How to Find Pet-Friendly Rentals in Corvallis

Boarding your dog during a short vacation is one thing, but you may not feel good about it if you plan to live in Corvallis for a month or longer. Finding a place in Corvallis that says yes to your dog takes more effort than simply finding a place to stay.

If you are looking for pet-friendly rentals in Corvallis, start looking early. Ask specific questions, and get approval to bring your dog before you book.

Why Pet-Friendly Rentals Take Planning

There are slightly more renters with pets than rentals allowing them. Nationwide, 58% of renters have a pet, while 57% of rental listings on Zillow allowed pets, according to a Zillow report. Even though those numbers are close, nearly half of the renters surveyed said they had to pass on a home because it didn’t allow their pet.

“Pets welcome” can mean different things. Be sure to ask about the specifics since many **pet-friendly rentals** set limits on size, breed, or species. Plan ahead to ensure you find a great home for you and your furry friend.

Pet-Friendly Housing Options in Corvallis

Visitors and newcomers usually choose among three kinds of **pet-friendly housing options in Corvallis**.

  • Short-stay hotels: Visit Corvallis lists several dog-friendly hotels, including Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn Express on the River, and suggests checking breed restrictions with each one.
  • Mid-term furnished rentals: These **furnished rentals** work well for stays of a month or longer, and many include utilities and internet. Pet rules vary by property, so ask about each one. Some Fernwood Circle homes fit this category.
  • Long-term apartments: Under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 90.302, landlords on standard residential leases can only charge the fees the law lists, and a nonrefundable pet fee isn’t one of them. ORS 90.300 allows an added deposit when a lease is changed to permit a pet and bars pet deposits for service and companion animals.

Comparing Costs When You Travel With a Dog

Weighing **affordable rentals and pet-friendly options** comes down to the full monthly cost. In June 2026, we found that a standard Corvallis hotel room runs about $3,300 to $5,600 for a month. A one- or two-bedroom furnished Fernwood Circle home often costs around $3,000 to $3,500 including utilities, internet, and twice-monthly housekeeping.

Dog-friendly homes typically cost slightly more through Fernwood Circle, and pet costs are common elsewhere too. Nationwide, renters pay an average of about $36 a month in pet rent and a refundable pet deposit averaging around $300, according to RentCafe, an apartment listing site.

For either a furnished rental or a hotel room, stays of 30 consecutive days or longer are exempt from Oregon’s state lodging tax.

Finding a Furnished Home That Welcomes Dogs

If you’re planning a stay of a month or longer with a dog, Fernwood Circle is a good first call. We manage furnished homes for mid-term stays in Corvallis. Some of our homes welcome dogs up to 55 pounds. Others are pet-free, which is good news for guests with allergies. We aren’t able to host cats.

Every dog stay is arranged ahead of time with our host, Alexandra Eder, who knows Corvallis well and has welcomed more than 1,000 guests. Talk with her about your dog and when you plan to stay.

“I always ask about the breed first,” Alexandra explained. She also looks for dogs that are kennel trained and stay off beds and furniture. “There are additional charges, and guests pay for any damage if those rules aren’t followed.”

She’ll let you know which home may meet your needs or recommend other places to look.

Plan Ahead Before You Bring Your Dog

Keep your dog’s needs in mind as you pack and plan.

Alexandra suggests: “Bring their own things. Their own bed, their own toys, and anything that smells like them and the people they love.”

When asked about one thing guests wish they knew before arriving, Alexandra answered, “Find a local vet before you arrive, so you’re not searching for one in an emergency.”

Other things to be aware of:

  • Ask for the pet policy, including size limits, number of pets, and any deposit or added rate.
  • Pack your dog’s tags. The City of Corvallis asks that dogs wear license, vaccination, and owner contact tags.
  • If you’re relocating to Corvallis, Oregon requires dog owners to license their dogs, and Benton County asks new residents to do so within 30 days.
  • Know where your dog can go. The City of Corvallis parks each have specific rules. For example, seven off-leash areas exist in city parks, including a fenced dog park at Third and B streets. Even with a leash, dogs aren’t allowed in Central, Chintimini, Franklin Square, or Lily parks.
