Overview
Canterbury Retreat is a two-bedroom, one-bath furnished home in a quiet Northeast Corvallis neighborhood, two blocks from the Jackson-Frazier Wetland. It suits couples and small families who want a settled place to unwind and catch up with friends.
Every stay starts with a welcome breakfast of organic eggs, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit.
Guests also enjoy golf privileges at the Corvallis Club through the owner’s membership. To play, guests arrange access in advance with the owner, who sets them up with the golf shop and the pro. Green and cart fees are paid at the shop each time they play. The course is a mature, tree-lined layout on the edge of town, quiet and well kept, with wide fairways and long evening light. Guests staying 30 days or longer can also request pool access at the club for a seasonal fee, open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The Space
The open floor plan connects the kitchen, the dining area, and a conversation space under a beamed ceiling. Wall-to-wall windows look out over a large landscaped backyard. Doors open to a covered seating area and a separate covered dining space with a barbecue for grilling.
Natural tile floors run through the main living space, set off by colorful artwork and small decorative touches. The floors are heated, so they stay warm underfoot all winter. In summer, ductless AC cools the home and ceiling fans in every room keep the air moving.
The living room has a large flat-screen TV and a deep couch, good for a movie, a book, or an evening with company. Just off it, a separate office closes off behind French doors, with a monitor, a keyboard, and high-speed Wi-Fi for anyone working remote.
The kitchen has updated appliances, a gas stove, and everything you need for a home-cooked meal, plus a bar with stools so no one cooks alone. The laundry room next door is stocked with a washer, a dryer, and supplies.
Both bedrooms have queen beds, full closets with built-in storage, and layered shades that let in light or block it out completely. The top-down, bottom-up blinds pair with a sheer, so you can filter the morning sun or darken the room fully for sleep. The high-end mattresses are chosen for a good night’s sleep.
The updated bathroom pairs a large shower with a deep Japanese soaking tub.
Private parking fits two cars in the driveway, with plenty of street parking as well.
